I HATE spam
After all these months i finally decided to moderate the comments on my site. Shock - there were 6500 comments awaiting moderation!!!! Worse still it took over 1 hour for the page to load with all those spam junky stupid posts, even with my broadband connection. Arggg - I DONT NOT WANT TO BUY VIAGRA - so stop askin!
Back on the blogging train
So when i check when i last blogged it is well over a year ago. before i started working infact!!! It is hard to believe that in this time i have done my first year as a house officer - where there were many ups and downs the like! And none of it was blogged!!!! never mind. Now i am back. Currently i am doing a GP placement in colchester, which is great, but i am having dilemas - i mean if i become a GP i basically resign myself to being a jack of all trades….but there is some part of my ego which would dearly love to be a master of one! I would sooooooooo love to be an expert, but also i would love to be settled and stay in my love house (which i have bought - another unblogged event!)
Bye Bye Griffin
Today i finally move out of my beloved Griffin House, which has been my home for nearly 2 years. I am moving to a manky room in colchester which is small and pokey and not altogether very nice. May consider renting somewhere with someone in my FY1 group at a later date.
My first week as a doctor was ok, but stressful. But it is still quite exciting when the nurses come up to me and ask me to fill in drug charts and fluid sheets. But i will always remember my first ever drug that i signed for. No it wasnt anything exciting like morphine, or clexane or even frusemide. NOPE - it was an enema! FANTASTIC!
Life in a Grown-Ups World
I offically start my new job on tuesday next week (1st august 2006!) but have been shadowing and having an induction for the two weeks before that. Meaning i have met most of my fellow Fy1 doctors and have been having a larf around colchester. Yesterday i got a lovely warm fuzzy feeling. I returned from london where i had to give my sister back her SD cards for her camera, and on my return at about 8 30 i found most of the group sitting outside with a BBQ surounded by wine and food and generally having a larf with each other. They called for me to join them and i came with my offerings of quiche jaffa cakes and chocolate fingers (all good!). We sat there until about 12 30, and it was lovely. I am really lucky that the group is so nice and i hope that it stays that way with everyone being included and that is doesnt segregate into little clichey(DUNNO HOW TO SPELL) groups. Watch this space is all i can say. Move into PROPER permantent room next week so it is a pain having to live with half my stuff in london and half of it here in boxes! I think a tirp to ikea is needed as the rooms that we will be moving into has no storage space at all and i have sooooo much crap! Thursday night is the weekly trip out for the hospital, and i missed last week coz i was a boring old fart. But this week i plan to be there with bells on! I think some crazy pictures will follow. HE HE HE HE.
